WHAT IS 280 RALLY

Not simply a race.
A test of preparation.

280 Rally is a long-distance mountain-bike rally across mountain tracks, forest roads, villages and public roads.

Riders navigate, manage fatigue and equipment, and make safe decisions over many hours. Course details and support vary by host region and year.

BEFORE THE START

What should I prepare?

Work through these four areas before entering.

01

Fitness and skills

Know your limits on long climbs, rough surfaces and extended riding.

02

Bike and equipment

Inspect brakes, tires and drivetrain. Bring a helmet, lights, spare power and repair tools.

03

Route and supplies

Load the final GPX and plan water, food, checkpoints and time margins.

04

Contact and procedure

Save control contact details and understand withdrawal and recovery procedures.

Distances, cut-off times, start times and mandatory equipment change by event. The final event notice takes priority.
RIDE SAFELY

Completion never comes before safety.

ROAD

Public roads and villages

Obey traffic rules, slow down at road access points and follow marshals or public-safety personnel.

CONDITIONS

Weather and health

Reassess visibility, road surface, temperature, fatigue and physical condition.

INCIDENT

Accident or withdrawal

Move to a safe position and report your location and condition to emergency services and rally control.

ROUTE

Official route

Use the final GPX and follow checkpoints, detours and field instructions.
